This year's theme selected by the Red Ribbon Dinner committee is "Over The Rainbow". Bob Ramos, first time event chair, is rallying the committee to top last year's stunning production. A high order indeed, but a task that they are well suited for.
The Red Ribbon Dinner began in 1991 as a grassroots fundraiser to benefit
AIDS Project Quad Cities. APQC, a 501-3(c) non-profit service organization,
provides support to persons living with HIV/AIDS as well as their families.
As their mission, AIDS Project Quad Cities will enhance the
quality of life in our community by providing advocacy and
care for those living with HIV/AIDS with case management
services and education for those at risk by offering a
variety of prevention and education programs throughout the
community to reduce the spread of HIV. Currently APQC
provides services to over 200 clients in western Illinois
and eastern Iowa covering an area of 30 counties total.

2008 marked the first time in six years that the Red Ribbon Dinner had changed venues. By all accounts it was a "good move".
Along with the elegantly decorated dining room, the entertainment featured a singer for the first time, Ms Shayna Steele.
